Gray Hair

Gray hair is what everyone can look forward to achieving as we age, and people spend millions of dollars every year on products on the market that promise to cover up and hide the silvery hair that slowly creeps onto our heads. People are finding that the silvery strands are starting to appear earlier and earlier, and today more thirty year olds than ever have it. Their parents did not have that amount of silvery strands when they were thirty, and whether the cause is the environment or stress, people race to cover it up to stay looking younger for as long as they can.

There are a lot of different reasons to explain why people get this hair color many attribute it to stress, some say it is because of the environment that people live in, and of course age is the biggest factor. Genetics plays a role in it's development, and hormonal changes are also to blame as well. As we age, our hair loses its pigment. It stops producing melanin, and this causes the hair to lose its colorful vibrancy. There are a lot of research tests and trials that are being underwent to try to discover ways to restore graying hair. One of the most interesting finds came with a drug that was used to treat patients with leukemia. French scientists discovered that patients who had the lovely strands of silver when they began the drug had their hair color restored with its use.

The battle to find the miracle cures for aging hair is an old one, and hair color and hair dye is actually an idea that is thousands of years old. There are a lot of different products that claim to cover it, reverse it, or prevent it, but time marches on, and we often find that it is marching right over our scalps.

Unfortunately most of the products that are made to fight this age monster either fail miserably or offer only temporary results at best, and at the root of the problem is still the gray hair. Women often turn to hair color to hide it, but find that the grays are stubborn and very difficult to color. People often also turn to taking vitamins, supplements, and all kinds of other methods trying to bring back a full head of color, but until science finds a way to reverse this sign of aging, people will have no choice but to either accept it and go on with their lives or they will continue spending those millions of dollars trying to find a solution for gray hair that they feel works best for them.
